1. Data Controller

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to operate the service:

• E-mail/password registration: your e-mail address, display name and a scrypt-hashed password — never stored in plaintext.
• Google sign-in: your e-mail address, name, Google account ID and profile picture URL as provided by Google OAuth.
• Note content: note titles, note bodies, tags and folders you create.

We do not collect payment information, location data, phone numbers or any other sensitive categories of personal data.

3. Why We Process Your Data

We process your personal data on the following bases under Article 6 GDPR:

• Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): creating and managing your account, verifying your identity at sign-in, storing and syncing your notes, sending transactional e-mails (e-mail verification, password reset).
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): securing the service and protecting against misuse.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): storing optional preferences (language, theme) via cookies and localStorage.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

By default we use strictly necessary and functional cookies only. Analytics (Google Analytics) cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner; nothing loads without consent and you can reject them at any time.

localStorage: We also store a theme key (light/dark preference) and a cookie-consent flag in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device.

5. Third Parties

We share your data only to the minimum extent required with these providers:

• Google LLC — only if you choose to sign in with Google. Sharing occurs via OAuth 2.0 and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• SMTP provider — to deliver transactional e-mails (e-mail verification, password reset). We pass only your e-mail address and message content to this provider.

We do not sell, rent or otherwise share your personal data with any other third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), your personal data, notes, folders and tags are permanently and irreversibly erased from our systems.

Backup copies may be retained for a limited period necessary to ensure operational continuity, but are protected by the same security measures.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

As a data subject you have the following rights:

• Right of access: you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: you may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure: you may delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account), which permanently erases all your data.
• Right to data portability: you may export any note as a Markdown file (.md) directly from the editor.
• Right to restriction of processing: under certain conditions you may request that processing of your data be restricted.
• Right to object: you have the right to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests.
• Right to lodge a complaint: you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the Czech Republic this is the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ), www.uoou.cz.

8. How to Delete Your Data

Sign in to the application, go to Settings → Delete account and confirm the action. Your account, all your notes, folders and tags will be immediately and permanently deleted. This operation is irreversible.

Alternatively, e-mail us at info@mynout.com and we will remove your account manually within 30 days.
